ABOUT US
Do you know that one friend who everyone seems to go to for advice? Maybe it's you! Well, we're that friend too. Only, we also happen to be trained therapists (of the mental health variety).

Your Therapist friends,
Kat and Sav.
Kathryn and Savannah are both Masters-level professional mental health counselors. They grew up together—not just around each other but, in large part, because of each other. Best friends since they can remember, they have experienced one of those unique friendships that is really more of a sisterhood. One of those friendships where you can say it how it is, ask the tough questions, call the other crying, and feel unconditionally loved. Through navigating childhood, family, friendships, dating, marriage, school, and work, they have supported each other in leaning into the discomfort of growth.
Curiosity drives them to better understand the mind, brain, body, and spirit. The most significant take-away from their professional and personal journeys is:
There is always a reason someone acts, thinks, and feels the way they do. So when we peek beneath the surface of our own or someone else's experience, this can lead to something we all need more of: compassion.
…Okay, we’re done with that third person stuff. Now, when we say compassion, we're not talking about a blanket "forgive and forget" mentality. We're not talking about agreeing with everyone, or liking everyone, or only feeling warm fuzzies all the time. Compassion— literally "to suffer with”— is a practice of bringing kind awareness to pain in a way that helps to alleviate it. And at the end of the day, isn't that what everyone wants? Less suffering, or at least not being jerks to ourselves or the people closest to us?
We want to share some of what we know to support you, our reader, to better understand yourself and others. And, more importantly, to be kinder to yourself and those around you whose behavior confuses the shit out you and sometimes makes you want to punch them in the face (literally or figuratively).
So, let's learn together how to better treat ourselves and others. Because let’s face it, we deserve it!
